International & Indigenous Languages Elementary Program (IILEP)

The International & Indigenous Languages Elementary Program (IILEP) has evolved over the years. It began as a way to help Ontario elementary school students maintain and develop their heritage language, or first language.  Today, students enrolled in IILEP have a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. They participate in the program for numerous reasons. This program has played a vital role in the lives of many young Ontarians and continues to do so.
